About the city

What it’s like to live in Pompano Beach

The beach runs from Terra Mar Drive north to Hillsboro Inlet, where the Hillsboro Lighthouse has guarded the channel since 1906. A 1,000-foot fishing pier anchors the redeveloped beach district, and offshore reefs and shipwrecks draw divers.

Away from the sand, the city has two 18-hole municipal golf courses, the Pompano Beach Airpark (home base of the Goodyear Blimp) and a downtown that continues to grow. Homes range from waterfront properties in Garden Isles and Harbor Village to golf-course communities in Palm Aire and Cypress Bend.
